If your website is to sell products that can be posted, it makes sense to set up online purchasing. This can be set up in one of several ways, all though, serve the same purpose - to add payment methods to your website.
Paypal.
The quickest, easiest and thus cheapest method. We have used paypal as a payment method for several websites with no problems at all. The payment method for this site will also be paypal. Paypal is free to set up, no monthly fees, just a small percentage deduction from the sale price.
Banks.
You could set up a merchant account with your bank. However, there is usually a fee for setting up the merchant account. This fee can be several hundred pounds, with a monthly fee also payable. After taking these two fees from you, there is also a charge for each payment that goes through the account. One bank holds back online payments for 6 months, so in effect, you receive no online payments for the first 6 months, and then begin to receive the first payments received.
Other online payment companies.
There other options for online payments other than paypal and your bank. However, from what we have found, all charge a substantial set up fee, and all then also charge a processing fee.

On deciding which online payment method to use, setting up on your website also needs to be taken into consideration.
The quickest method to set up is paypal, which also includes "Add to Basket" and "View Basket" buttons. To view paypal buttons, please see Wooden Bowls for examples. If you do not have a paypal account, one can be set up for you for a nominal fee.
The cost of setting up the e-commerce side of your website is dependant on the number of products you want to sell online. If you email us with the number of items you wish to list, we will give you a quote for setting up the e-commerce side of your website.
